| Beschrijving voorzijde | Diademed and veiled head of Queen Philistis facing left, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with a diaphanous veil drawn tightly over the diadem and falling in deeply engraved folds behind the head. A pendant earring is visible at the ear. A torch symbol is positioned to the right in the field. The portrait is modelled with considerable sculptural refinement, consistent with the high artistic standards of the Syracusan mint under Hieron II. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Nike, winged and in flowing drapery, driving a fast quadriga to the right, grasping the reins firmly in both hands as the four horses gallop at full stride. The composition conveys vigorous motion characteristic of late Syracusan die engraving. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΑΣ ΦΙΛΙΣΤΙΔΟΣ (of Queen Philistis) is inscribed in the field, and the control mark E appears below the horses in the exergual area. |
