Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the 1976 IMF/World Bank Annual Meeting held in Manila — a political coup for Marcos, who used the event to project an image of the Philippines as a stable, modernizing economy despite being under martial law since 1972. The meeting was the first time the IMF/World Bank had convened in Southeast Asia.

The .900 gold specification aligns with the coinage standards Marcos favored for prestige issues of this period, most of which were struck for collectors and foreign dignitaries rather than circulation.
