| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts a personification of Rome as a young woman clad in classical Roman dress, standing and holding a shield bearing the arms of the Italian state. The design commemorates the centennial of Rome as capital of Italy (1870–1970) and the founding of the Italian Republic in 1946. The Latin legend 'ROMA ITALICAE REIPUBLICAE PRIMORDIA' arcs around the upper field, with the dual dates '1870–1970' and '1946' prominent in the design. The initials 'SDG' appear in the lower field, attributing the work to the engraver. The composition reflects the artistic style of the Italian medallic tradition of the period. |

Ras al-Khaimah was the most prolific — and most cynical — issuer of collector coinage among the Trucial States in the years immediately before UAE federation in 1971. These pieces were never intended for circulation; they were produced under contract with European minting houses and sold directly to the international numismatic market as a revenue-generating scheme. The "Saqr Rome" designation refers to a commemorative issue tied to the 1960 Rome Olympics restrikes program, exploiting the name of the ruling sheikh, Saqr bin Mohammed al-Qasimi, for nominal legitimacy.
The sheikdom ceased issuing independent coinage upon joining the UAE.
