背面描述 A central flaming Olympic torch rises vertically from the interlocked five Olympic rings, each of the four visible rings enclosing a relief figure of an athlete in a different sporting discipline: a weightlifter upper left, a swimmer or diver upper right, a wrestler lower left, and a marksman lower right. The legend 'MUNCHEN' arcs along the upper left field, 'XX OLYMPIC' appears to the left of the torch shaft, and '1972 GAMES' descends vertically along the right field. The designer's initials 'SDG' appear in the lower exergue. A beaded border frames the entire composition.

附加信息

Ras al-Khaimah, one of the smaller Trucial States on the Persian Gulf coast, issued an aggressive series of commemorative coins in the early 1970s primarily as a revenue-generating scheme aimed at collectors — not for domestic circulation. The emirate had virtually no numismatic infrastructure of its own; these pieces were struck in European mints and marketed internationally before the UAE federation absorbed the Trucial States in late 1971, effectively ending Ras al-Khaimah's independent issuing authority.

The two-year gap between the stated 1970 striking date and the 1972 Munich Games it commemorates is characteristic of the entire series.
