| Obverse description | Veiled and draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia facing right, depicted in widow's attire with an elaborate lace-trimmed veil cascading over her shoulders, rendered in high relief in the late Baroque style. Below the bust, a decorative floral spray tied with a ribbon bow serves as a truncation ornament. A horizontal double line separates the bust area from the lower field, where the fineness inscription XCVI EX MARCA PURA VIEN: appears in two lines, indicating 96 coins struck from one mark of pure Vienna silver. The circumferential Latin legend M·THERESIA·D·G·R·I·HU·BO·GA·LO·REG· runs along the outer border, separated from the reeded edge by a plain rim. |
