The portrait is rendered in the elaborate Baroque style typical of late 17th-century Habsburg coinage. An ornate partial inner circle frames the lower portion of the effigy. An imperial crown surmounts the shields and divides the date above. Below the shields, the value XV is displayed in Roman numerals within a decorative rectangular frame. The surrounding legend abbreviates the titles Archidux Austriae, Dux Burgundiae, Comes Tyrolis, identifying Leopold's hereditary territorial dignities. |
