Aanvullende informatie

Sobhuza II holds a record that may never be broken: at his death in 1982, he had reigned for just over 82 years, making him the longest-documented reign of any monarch in recorded history. He assumed the Swazi throne as an infant in 1899, though a regency governed until 1921. This 1974 issue marks the centennial of his birth — a rare occasion where the subject of a commemorative coin was still alive and ruling at the time of striking.
