Canada's lunar series coins occupy a niche almost entirely driven by export demand — the domestic market has little use for them, and the Royal Canadian Mint has long understood that its primary customers for these issues are collectors in East and Southeast Asian diaspora communities, particularly in the United States and Canada itself.
