| Aanvullende informatie |
Mazu is a Chinese sea goddess whose cult originated in Fujian province during the Song dynasty and spread across maritime Southeast Asia through centuries of Chinese emigration. Her inclusion on a Lao commemorative is commercially driven — these pieces were produced almost entirely for the export collector market, targeting diaspora communities and thematic collectors in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, where Mazu worship remains actively practiced. Laos has no meaningful coastal tradition connected to the deity.
