Opmerkingen

Konstadt — today Wołczyn in southwestern Poland — issued this 14 Pfennig Notgeld in 1918 as one of hundreds of small Silesian municipalities scrambling to fill the coin shortage created by wartime metal requisitioning. The 14 Pfennig denomination is genuinely odd: most Notgeld issuers worked in round figures, and fractional denominations like this one typically reflect a specific local pricing need rather than arbitrary design.

Authentication rested entirely on the magistrate's rubber stamp and a handwritten or sequenced control number — no engraved security printing. Forgery risk was considered low simply because the face value wasn't worth the effort.
