Obverse description Macedonian shield rendered in low relief, decorated with an ornamental boss at the centre surrounded by concentric dotted rings and a border of pellets. The shield displays the characteristic circular pattern with additional decorative elements radiating outward, with partial traces of the legend ΗΡΑΚΛΕωΤωΝ (of the Heracleans) visible around the periphery of the coin.
