| Reverse description | Central field occupied by a crossed cornucopia motif, a symbol of royal abundance and prosperity widely employed on Nabataean bronze coinage of the Aretas IV series. The two cornucopiae are depicted intertwined or side by side, their curved horns filled with stylised foliage and fruit. A Nabataean inscription is placed within the field, reading PṢ'L, an abbreviated reference to queen Phasaelis. The overall design is rendered in the cursive, somewhat abstracted engraving style typical of Nabataean bronzes of this period. |
