正面描述 Youthful male head facing right, depicted bare-headed with short, tightly curled hair rendered in a compact, naturalistic style characteristic of late Classical Greek bronze coinage. The portrait is set within a plain field with no surrounding legend or border, occupying the full flan. The facial features are well-modelled, showing a defined jawline, prominent eye, and slightly parted lips. The style reflects the regional artistic tradition of western Greece during the fourth to third centuries BC.

附加信息

Kephallenia, the Ionian island known today as Kefalonia, operated as a loose federation of four poleis — Same, Pale, Pronnoi, and Krane — each of which struck its own bronze coinage during the Hellenistic period. This piece originates from that federated minting arrangement, where civic identity and local autonomy were expressed through independent bronze issues even as the island communities shared geographic and political ties.

The HGC 2, 1259 attribution places this firmly within a well-documented but sparsely surviving series. Bronze of this module from the western Greek islands circulated at the lowest transactional level and was rarely exported, which limits die-study samples considerably.
