| Reverse description | A three-quarter facing portrait of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar occupies the central field, depicted in suit and tie with characteristic round-framed spectacles, his arms resting upon an open book, conveying his identity as a scholar, jurist, and architect of the Indian Constitution. The Devanagari legend 'डॉ. बी. आर. अम्बेडकर की 125 वीं जयंती' arcs around the upper periphery, while the English legend '125TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF DR. B.R. AMBEDKAR' curves along the lower and left periphery. The date '2015' appears in the lower central exergue, with the Mumbai Mint mark (M) visible below it. |

| Additional information |
The 125 Rupees denomination was created specifically for this commemorative series, sitting outside normal circulation coinage entirely. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, born April 14, 1891, chaired the drafting committee of the Indian Constitution and remains the defining figure of the Dalit rights movement — his conversion to Buddhism in 1956, just weeks before his death, was a deliberate political repudiation of the caste hierarchy embedded in Hinduism.
The .500 fineness is notably debased for a commemorative silver issue, a cost-driven choice that drew quiet criticism from collectors at release.
