| Popis líce | Highly stylised Celtic rendering of the head of Herakles facing right, derived ultimately from the Lysimachos stater prototype. The facial features are rendered in characteristic La Tène abstraction, with a large schematic eye formed by a pellet within a circular surround, and a boldly delineated nose and chin. The hair is elaborately depicted as a series of sweeping curved lines and comma-shaped locks radiating from the crown. A pellet within an annulet appears before the face in the field, serving as a distinctive diagnostic element of this issue. |
