| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field bears the prominent Roman numeral XII in raised relief, denoting the denomination of twelve sous, flanked by a long decorative cross or sceptre extending vertically through the field. Below the numeral, a pair of crossed implements — likely the episcopal crozier and sword, symbols of the Prince-Bishopric — are visible in low relief. The encircling Latin legend AVDIATVR x ALTERA x PARS, meaning 'let the other side be heard', is a juridical motto adopted by the Prince-Bishops of Liège, followed by the denomination indication XII SVS (with known varieties reading SOV, SOS, SO, or SOVS). The flan is irregular and the surfaces are heavily patinated with red and green corrosion products, consistent with the crude hammered fabric of this low-denomination copper issue. |
