正面描述 Facing right, the bearded head of Acheloos, the river god, rendered in bold relief with characteristic bovine features including a prominent horn emerging from the upper left. The facial hair is rendered in deeply incised, naturalistic curls, and the overall style is consistent with Akarnanian regional bronze coinage of the mid-Hellenistic period.

背面描述 An olive wreath, open at the top, encircles the central field in which a single Greek letter is positioned. The wreath is rendered with individual leaves depicted in low relief on both branches, tied at the base, consistent with the civic bronze coinage conventions of Akarnanian city-states.

附加信息

Thyrreion — the spelling variants alone track the scholarly disputes over this Akarnanian city's identity — was a member of the Acarnanian League, the federal koina that managed collective coinage policy across the region. Individual member cities retained the right to strike small bronze for local use, which explains the proliferation of tiny civic issues like this one in the mid-third century. The League itself struck silver; the bronze was left to the cities.
