| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two seated episcopal figures, Saints Rudbertus and Virgilius, face one another in three-quarter view within the coin's field; Saint Rudbertus at left holds a salt barrel, his traditional attribute, while Saint Virgilius at right holds a model of Salzburg Cathedral, both saints depicted in full episcopal vestments including mitres and copes. Between the two figures, a tall processional cross or combined pastoral staff rises prominently. Beneath the saints, a detailed architectural representation of the city of Salzburg with towers and walls occupies the lower field. The circumferential Latin legend naming both saints runs within a beaded border encircling the entire composition. |
