The legend reads across multiple lines, naming Franz as King of Hungary and Bohemia, Archduke of Austria, and Grand Duke of Tuscany, and recording his election and coronation as King of the Romans at Frankfurt on 14 July 1792. The date is expressed in Roman numerals (MDCCXCII) on the final line. The lettering is rendered in a bold Roman serif style characteristic of late 18th-century German medallic engraving. The coin's milled border frames the inscription neatly, with no exergue line or additional ornamental devices. |
