Additional information

Syros, the Cycladic island better known in antiquity for its purple dye trade than for any significant political weight, produced a limited civic bronze coinage that has never been systematically catalogued to a narrow date range. The variants noted against SNG Copenhagen 758–759 and the Weber specimen suggest die differences that remain unresolved in the literature — this piece falls outside the recorded die combinations without being attributable to a new type with confidence.
