| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold Tughra-influenced script, occupying virtually the entire flan. The legend reads the royal honorific title of Sultan Nasir ud-din Mahmud Shah I, rendered in deeply struck raised characters. The script displays the characteristic angular and cursive forms typical of Gujarati sultanate copper coinage of the late 15th century. The rim is plain and irregular, consistent with the hand-struck hammered technique common to this series. Patination of green and brown corrosion products is visible across the surface. |
