Obverse description Hammered copper flan bearing a multi-line Arabic legend arranged across the field, reading 'al-Sultan Ahmad Shah ibn Mahmud Shah', attributing the coin to Sultan Ahmad Shah III, son of Mahmud Shah, ruler of the Gujarat Sultanate. The inscription is executed in a bold, somewhat irregular Naskh script typical of mid-16th century Gujarati copper coinage. The field shows no figural imagery, consistent with Islamic numismatic convention. The coin surface displays characteristic green and red patination with encrustation from long burial.
