| Mô tả mặt trước | Central field features a high-relief depiction of Spirou, the Belgian comic book character created by Rob-Vel in 1938, rendered in his iconic bellboy costume with distinctive round buttons and hat. The character is shown in a playful, crouching pose with his hand raised to his face. The denomination '1 1/2 EURO' appears in bold relief to the left of the figure, with the 'RF' (République Française) monogram to the right. The commemorative dates '1938' and '2008' flank the figure in the upper field, marking the 70th anniversary of the character's creation. The legend 'LIBERTÉ · ÉGALITÉ · FRATERNITÉ' curves along the lower rim. |

| Thông tin bổ sung |
Monnaie de Paris has issued commemorative pieces tied to Belgian comic characters before, but this 2008 Spirou issue is a French mint product — an unusual jurisdictional wrinkle, given that Spirou himself debuted in a Belgian weekly in 1938 and remains most closely associated with Marcinelle and the Dupuis publishing house. The 1½ euro denomination was used by France during this period specifically for small-format collector issues, carrying no practical spending utility but legal tender status nonetheless.
