Obverse description Central field features the official emblem of the 1993 Daejeon World Exposition, depicting a stylized globe rendered as an abstract spherical form with a sweeping orbital ring, evoking themes of science, technology, and global harmony. The emblem is enclosed within a raised inner circle, around which a broad legend in Hangul script reads 대전세계박람회 (Daejeon World Exposition) along the upper arc, flanked by decorative dot ornaments. The lower arc bears the issuer name 한국은행 (Bank of Korea), the denomination 천원 (One Thousand Won), and the date 1993, all in Hangul and Arabic numerals. The overall design is executed in a clean, modernist style characteristic of late twentieth-century commemorative coinage.
