| Obverse description | The Tanzanian coat of arms occupies the central field, depicted in high relief and flanked by two human figures serving as supporters: a male figure to the left and a female figure to the right, each resting a hand on the shield. The shield bears a torch, a crossed axe and hoe, and wavy lines representing the sea, all within an oval cartouche framed by elephant tusks.
