| 正面铭文 | SOMALI REPUBLIC 20 22 1.000 SHILLINGS |
| 背面描述 | A highly detailed, finely engraved scene depicts an adult female African elephant and her young calf walking to the left across a savanna landscape. The mother elephant is rendered with exceptional naturalistic detail, her wrinkled hide and large ears faithfully reproduced, while the calf walks closely beneath her body. In the middle ground, acacia trees dot the horizon beneath a large full moon rising in the upper field, and a flock of birds in flight is depicted to the right. The legend 'AFRICAN WILDLIFE' arcs along the upper border, with 'ELEPHANT' inscribed along the lower left and '1 oz Au 9999' along the lower right, all separated by raised bullet points within the border. |

Somalia's elephant bullion series has been issued annually since 2004, with each year bringing a new reverse design — a practice borrowed deliberately from the South African Krugerrand model to encourage year-on-year collector accumulation. The series is produced under license by the Bavarian State Mint in Munich, not by any Somali minting authority, which has no functioning mint of its own.
The 2022 issue marks one of the later entries in an eighteen-year run that has quietly built a secondary market among European bullion collectors, particularly in Germany, where the Bavarian State Mint's distribution network is strongest.
