توضیحات روی اسکناس Central vignette to the right presents a caparisoned ceremonial elephant in intaglio alongside its mahout, set against a fine guilloche underprint in green and gold tones. To the left, a smaller processional elephant vignette appears above a panel with the Sri Lanka lion device, while the denomination numeral '1000' is rendered in bold letterpress at upper left and lower right corners. The issuer's name appears in Sinhala, Tamil, and English scripts across the upper portion of the note, with two manuscript signatures and the date 1995-11-15 in the centre field.

توضیحات پشت اسکناس The central vignette presents an intaglio rendering of the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) in Kandy, its distinctive red-roofed octagonal relic chamber and surrounding complex rendered in fine detail against a pale guilloche background. In the foreground, a large peacock with spread plumage is executed in multicolour intaglio, occupying the lower half of the design. Pink lotus blossoms appear as a watercolour-style underprint at the upper corners, and the denomination numeral '1000' is set within an ornate oval medallion at upper left.

The P#113 is part of the series Sri Lanka introduced after the Central Bank moved away from the portrait-based designs that had defined its notes since the 1970s. De La Rue printed this series through a period of acute civil conflict — the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam were at their operational peak through the mid-1990s, and counterfeiting pressure on high-denomination notes was a documented concern driving security upgrades across the region.

The security thread on this issue is a windowed rather than fully embedded type, a transitional feature that De La Rue was deploying across several Asian central bank contracts at this time before fully windowed threads became the regional norm.
