The 1000 Pesos Dominicanos is the highest denomination in regular circulation for the Dominican Republic, and the 2011–2013 period covers a notable transition in printer contracts — the 2011 issues came from Giesecke & Devrient in Germany under Finance Minister Vicente Bengoa, while the 2012 and 2013 signatures shifted to Oberthur in France under successive ministers.
