The 1000 Pesos Dominicanos is the highest denomination in regular circulation for the Dominican Republic, and the 2011–2013 period covers a notable transition in printer contracts — the 2011 issues came from Giesecke & Devrient in Germany under Finance Minister Vicente Bengoa, while the 2012 and 2013 signatures shifted to Oberthur in France under successive ministers. Same Pick number, meaningfully different production origins.
Héctor Valdez Albizu's signature anchors all three years; he served as Central Bank Governor continuously from 1994 to 2022 with a brief interruption, making him one of the longest-tenured central bankers in the hemisphere.
