Obverse description The obverse is printed in brown and rose tones on a fine guilloche underprint. To the right, an intaglio vignette presents a three-quarter portrait of a crowned medieval Hungarian king wearing a chainmail coif, set within an ornate oval frame with laurel branches. To the left, a large decorative medallion encloses the numeral "1000" in guilloche work. The centre bears the issuer's name "MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK" above the date "BUDAPEST, 1943 ÉVI FEBRUÁR HÓ 24-ÉN" and three facsimile signature lines labelled ELNÖK, FŐTANÁCSOS, and VEZÉRIGAZGATÓ.
