Three cartouches with fine lathe-work surrounds are arranged horizontally: the two outer panels each bear the denomination "1000" above and below a large red "M", while the central panel carries the numeral "1000" in large red figures. The inscriptions "Notgeld" and "Stadt Gotha" appear in red italic lettering above and below the central cartouche respectively. |
