Obverse description Central design features the coat of arms of Turkmenistan rendered within a stylised eight-pointed star frame: at centre a small circle encloses a standing Akhal-Teke horse facing left, surrounded by a wreath of five carpet guls (traditional Turkmen ornamental medallions) arranged in an arc. Flanking the central motif are two sheaves of wheat, and at the top of the inner field a crescent moon with five stars appears above the horse. The legend TÜRKMENISTANYÑ MERKEZI BANKY is inscribed in raised Latin letters around the upper periphery, with the date 2005 flanked by two raised dots at the base of the coin.

Reverse description The reverse commemorates the tenth anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, recognised by the United Nations in 1995. At left stands a prominent depiction of the Neutrality Monument of Ashgabat, its distinctive tapering tripod tower with rotating top rendered in relief. To the upper right appears the emblem of the United Nations, below which the large numeral 10 and the Turkmen word ÝYL (meaning 'years') are prominently displayed in the field. The dates 1995 and 2005 are inscribed below, with the denomination 1000 MANAT at the lower left, all framed by a laurel branch at the base. The curved legend TÜRKMENISTANYŇ HEMIŞELIK BITARAPLYGYNA runs along the upper periphery.
