| Beschrijving voorzijde | The national coat of arms of Cameroon occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing scales of justice surmounted by a five-pointed star, flanked by two crossed fasces each topped with an axe head. The bilingual motto appears in the upper field in two registers: PAIX / PEACE to the left and PATRIE / FATHERLAND to the right, with TRAVAIL / WORK centered above the shield. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN runs along the upper rim, while the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in large letters along the lower rim. A scroll at the base of the arms bears the bilingual inscriptions REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON and REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN. |

The Union Pacific 119 was one of two locomotives that met at Promontory Summit, Utah, on May 10, 1869, completing the First Transcontinental Railroad — the other being Central Pacific's Jupiter. Cameroon has no historical connection to American railroads; these issues are produced squarely for the numismatic collector market, a revenue mechanism common among smaller sovereign states since the 1990s.
The 31.1g fine silver weight places this firmly in the one-troy-ounce commemorative category that dominates such programs.
