| 表面の説明 | Central field displays the coat of arms of Niger — a shield flanked by decorative elements, rendered in high relief against a plain silver field. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU NIGER arcs along the upper periphery in incuse Latin lettering, while the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed along the lower portion of the field. The design is restrained and heraldic in character, with a beaded border encircling the entire obverse. |

Niger adopted the CFA franc as its currency through membership in the West African Economic and Monetary Union, meaning this coin was issued by a state that conducts no independent monetary policy — the BCEAO in Dakar controls supply and rates. Collector issues like this one are among the few instruments through which member states can produce nationally branded coinage at all.
The fennec is native to the Sahara and is the national animal of neighboring Algeria, not Niger — an unusual choice for a Nigerien issue, though not unheard of in the themed silver programs produced for the collector market during this period.
