Bradbury, Wilkinson's contract work for Luxembourg produced some of the most finely engraved notes in the duchy's postwar series, and this 1000 Franc note is among the more consequential. By 1963, the Belgian-Luxembourg Economic Union meant the franc circulated on near-equal terms with Belgian currency, making high-denomination notes like this one genuinely functional instruments of commerce rather than prestige pieces.
