Bradbury, Wilkinson's contract work for Luxembourg produced some of the most finely engraved notes in the duchy's postwar series, and this 1000 Franc note is among the more consequential. By 1963, the Belgian-Luxembourg Economic Union meant the franc circulated on near-equal terms with Belgian currency, making high-denomination notes like this one genuinely functional instruments of commerce rather than prestige pieces.

The P#52B designation indicates a signature variant within the broader Charlotte series — the earlier 52A differing in the treasury official signing below the main signature line. Worth verifying which pairing is present before cataloging.
