| Reverse description | The reverse features a large central circular cartouche rendered in full colour, depicting a lush arrangement of red and pink roses in close-up, with two pink heart-shaped decorations nestled among the blooms, evoking a Valentine's Day bouquet. The surrounding border ring is struck in silver and decorated in high relief with festive motifs including ribbons, streamers, bows, balloons, and heart-shaped ornaments. The legend PRECIOUS FAMILY MOMENTS is inscribed along the lower arc of the border in bold raised lettering on a dark ground, flanked by star ornaments. |

| Additional information |
The Bank of Central African States — the BEAC — issues currency for six member nations including Cameroon, Gabon, and Chad, none of which have any particular institutional or cultural claim to Valentine's Day as a holiday. These coins are produced explicitly for the collector export market, with no realistic prospect of circulation, and are contracted through private minting intermediaries rather than struck on sovereign initiative.
The CFA franc itself has been pegged to the euro since 1999, before that to the French franc at a fixed rate set in 1948.
