| 正面描述 | The national coat of arms of the Republic of Togo occupies the central field, depicting two rampant lions facing inward and supporting a shield bearing the monogram 'RT' (République Togolaise), surmounted by two crossed national flags each charged with a white star. Flanking ribbon banners carry the national motto 'TRAVAIL LIBERTE PATRIE'. The legend 'REPUBLIQUE TOGOLAISE' arcs along the upper periphery in large incuse lettering, while the denomination '1000 FRANCS' is inscribed along the lower rim. |

Kyniska of Sparta, daughter of King Archidamos II, became the first woman to win at the ancient Olympic Games — not by competing directly, but by entering and funding a chariot team in 396 BC, then repeating the victory four years later. Sparta erected a bronze statue of her at Olympia, an honor rarely extended to anyone. Togo's issuance is part of a broader wave of African commemorative coinage from the early 2000s produced largely for the collector market, with minimal connection to the issuing state beyond licensing arrangements.
