The coin exists purely because the BCEAO-affiliated issuing framework allows member states to license their names to third-party numismatic programs, overwhelmingly produced by the Polish mint Mennica Polska, which has struck dozens of nearly identical prehistoric fauna issues across multiple nominal African issuers since roughly 2014. KM#129 was never intended for circulation and likely saw no distribution within Burkina Faso itself.
