The "Magic Boots" issue belongs to a wave of novelty-themed silver rounds produced for the European collector market in the mid-2010s, a category that drew persistent criticism from purists for diluting the catalog of legitimate national issues.
KM#90 saw extremely limited actual distribution in Burkina Faso itself.
