Obverse description The national arms of Burkina Faso are depicted in high relief at the centre of the obverse, featuring a shield charged with a five-pointed star, flanked by two rampant horses serving as supporters, with crossed spears behind the shield and a scroll below bearing the national motto in three parts: 'Unité', 'Progrès', and 'Justice', accompanied by an open book at the base. A ribbon above the shield bears the inscription 'BURKINA FASO'. The outer legend reads 'REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO' along the upper periphery, while the denomination '1000 FRANCS CFA' is inscribed in large characters along the lower periphery. The coin exhibits an antique finish with a matte, aged appearance throughout.

Additional information

Burkina Faso has issued collector coinage through the Monnaie de Paris and various private minting arrangements since the 1990s, with much of the program driven by numismatic export revenue rather than domestic circulation needs. The "Magic Boots" issue belongs to a wave of novelty-themed silver rounds produced for the European collector market in the mid-2010s, a category that drew persistent criticism from purists for diluting the catalog of legitimate national issues.

KM#90 saw extremely limited actual distribution in Burkina Faso itself.
