| Opis awersu | The obverse displays the national arms of Togo in the centre, consisting of two rampant lions flanking a shield bearing the monogram 'RT', above which two crossed national flags are depicted, each inscribed with one of the national mottoes TRAVAIL and PATRIE, with a scroll above reading LIBERTE. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE TOGOLAISE arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1000 FRANCS is inscribed in bold relief along the lower periphery. The design is rendered in proof finish against a mirror-polished field, with a beaded inner border running the full circumference. |

Ludwig Erhard served as West Germany's Economics Minister from 1949 and is credited with designing the social market economy that underpinned the postwar Wirtschaftswunder. Togo, a former German protectorate until 1914, issued this piece as part of a broader series of commemorative francs CFA produced through European minting intermediaries — coins effectively sold to collectors abroad rather than circulated domestically.
The KM# 107 attribution places it within a cluster of Togolese issues from this period that were licensed through the Bavarian State Mint and similar contractors.
