The BCEAO issues commemorative silver on behalf of its eight member states — Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo — under a shared monetary union whose franc CFA is pegged to the euro at a fixed rate of 655.957, a parity inherited from the pre-1999 French franc arrangement.
