Obverse description The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Gabonese Republic in the central field, featuring a shield divided into three sections — the upper portion bearing the motto scrolls 'UNITÉ' and 'PROGRÈS', flanked by two black panthers rampant as supporters. The shield itself depicts a sailing ship on the lower half and three roundels on the upper half. Above the shield, a stylized tree with broad foliage crowns the composition. The curved legend 'RÉPUBLIQUE GABONAISE' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '1000 FRANCS CFA' is inscribed along the lower rim.

Reverse description The reverse features a finely detailed, gold-plated springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis) in full stride to the right, set against a ruthenium-darkened field that creates a striking two-tone contrast. The animal is depicted with characteristic lyre-shaped horns and stands above a gold-plated ground line rendered with textured vegetation. The curved legend 'THE AFRICAN SPRINGBOK' arcs along the upper periphery in gold lettering. The date '2014' appears split on either side of the lower field, with the inscription '.999 FINE SILVER 1 OZ' along the lower rim. A small circular privy mark inscribed '5th Anniv.' is situated to the lower left of the central motif.
