| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central design features a detailed bird's-eye view of the island monastery of San Lazzaro degli Armeni (Սբ Ղազար Կղզի) in the Venetian lagoon, rendered in fine relief against a reticulated background. Above the monastery view, the heraldic shield of the Mekhitarist Congregation is depicted flanked by two winged putti in baroque style, with the founding year 1717 inscribed above the coat of arms. Bilingual inscriptions in Armenian and Latin identify the island as 'ՍԲ ՂԱԶԱՐ ԿՂԶԻ / SAN LAZZARO DEGLI ARMENI' and 'ՎԵՆԵՏԻԿ / VENEZIA'. The circular legend in Armenian along the upper rim reads 'ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅԱՆ ԿԵՆՏՐՈՆԱԿԱՆ ԲԱՆԿ' (Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia). The background field is filled with an intricate geometric floral lattice pattern in the Armenian decorative tradition. A rectangular cartouche at the base of the central design bears a small inscription identifying the artist or engraver.
