Obverse description The obverse features the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia at center, depicting a crowned double-headed eagle, rendered within a field of concentric circular lines. To the lower right, a colorized puzzle-piece arrangement displays the national flags of the six CSTO member states. The denomination '1000 դրամ' appears in the lower field. The bilingual legend 'ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ' in Armenian script arcs along the upper border, with 'РЕСПУБЛИКА АРМЕНИЯ' in Cyrillic immediately below it, and the date '2017' is inscribed to the right of the arms.

Additional information

Armenia joined the Collective Security Treaty Organization at its founding in 1992, but the CST itself — the predecessor agreement — dated to May 1992 and was signed in Tashkent by six post-Soviet republics scrambling to establish a mutual defense framework as the USSR dissolved around them. The CSTO as a formal international organization only achieved that status in 2003. This coin marks the 25th anniversary of the original Tashkent treaty.

Armenian commemorative silver of this period was struck at foreign facilities, with production contracted out rather than handled domestically.
