1000 Dram Constitutional Court

Armenia's Constitutional Court was established under the 1995 constitution, the country's first post-Soviet foundational law, adopted by referendum just four years after independence. The court's early years were marked by contested jurisdiction and political friction, particularly around presidential term disputes in the 2000s that tested whether its rulings would be respected in practice.

This issue belongs to a broader Armenian commemorative program marking national institutions, struck at relatively low mintages through the State Mint of Russia, which has produced much of Armenia's commemorative silver output since the mid-1990s.
