| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of São Tomé and Príncipe occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing a palm tree, flanked by two parrots with wings displayed serving as supporters. Above the shield a five-pointed star is prominently featured, and scrolls inscribed REPÚBLICA, PRÍNCIPE, and DEMOCRÁTICA DE S. TOMÉ appear around it. The motto scrolls DISCIPLINA, UNIDADE, and TRABALHO are rendered below the shield. The circular legend REPÚBLICA DEMOCRÁTICA DE S.
