| Obverse description | The Polish national emblem, the White Eagle displayed with wings spread, rendered in high relief at centre of the field. The eagle faces dexter and is depicted with a crown, talons extended, against a plain field. The date 1988 appears flanked on either side of the eagle's lower body, with the mint mark below.
