Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Sun Yat-sen at left, rendered in brown tones against a green guilloche underprint. The central vignette carries the denomination 壹百圓 within an elaborate scalloped guilloche rosette, flanked by ornamental corner cartouches bearing the denomination in Chinese characters. A blank oval panel occupies the right field, intended for a chop or endorsement stamp.
Obverse lettering 行銀央中 圓百壹 印年五十二國民華中 製司公路德華國英
(Translation: The Central Bank of China One Hundred Yuan Printed in the 25th year of the Republic of China Waterlow Company (England))
Reverse description A traditional Chinese imperial palace hall — generally identified as a building within the former imperial compound — rendered in fine intaglio engraving in purple-brown tones, set to the right of centre with a tree vignette at far right. A large blank oval cartouche occupies the left field. Two facsimile signatures appear below the central text panel, captioned GENERAL MANAGER and GOVERNOR respectively, with the date 1936 in a decorative tablet at the bottom centre.
